Council accepts small in-kind flag donation and Sal Perez scholarship fundraiser proceeds

The parks and recreation department reported $2,508.75 collected for the Sal Perez scholarship during a softball tournament April 19; the total included $2,055 in team fees, $135 from an Arnie Rangel donation and $318.75 in concessions. Staff recommended acceptance, credit to the appropriate accounts and a letter of thanks to the donors.
Councilmember Soule moved to accept the gifts with thanks and Councilmember Shay supported the motion. Council unanimously approved the acceptance and directed staff to acknowledge donors.
