The commission’s May 15 update on efforts to resolve staff salary concerns prompted a personnel board meeting, which commission members said focused on process rather than immediate budget changes.
Commissioners reported they sent follow-up correspondence to Personnel Board member Jason Malinowski and the Select Board. At the May personnel board meeting, members said they did not want to review individual employee salary requests en masse and instead preferred to hear from affected employees and gather broader input.
Sarah Micas said she can meet individually with the Personnel Board to provide additional context and that the board “will take that into consideration.” Commissioners noted the Personnel Board told them it faces timing limits on budget changes because the next town meeting and budget cycle will occur after the fall; any budget modifications would therefore be constrained by established timelines.
Commissioners said they will offer to accompany or support individual employees who choose to speak to the Personnel Board and that they will provide any additional information the board requests.
