Newnan — The Newnan City Council unanimously approved a $2,159,637.84 contract award to Blunt Construction Company for a set of pavement preservation projects across the city.
City staff reported six bids were submitted April 22 for milling, patching and overlay on multiple streets and full-depth reclamation and overlay on others. The Georgia Department of Transportation contributed $495,514.22 toward the projects; after that contribution, the city's remaining share is $1,664,123.62 to be paid from SPLOST 2025 funding.
Streets included in the project list are Diplomat Parkway; Pecan Crescent; Woodmere; Bridal Way; Pickett Place; Veranda Place; Pecan Terrace; Quail Run Court; Newnan Crossing Boulevard East; Murray Street; Evans Drive; Dixon Street; and West Veil Drive. The project scope varies by street between milling/overlay and full-depth reclamation and overlay.
Council approved the contract award unanimously and directed staff to finalize contract documents with Blunt Construction Company. Project implementation and scheduling details are included in the agenda packet.
