At its May 15 meeting, the Board of Zoning Appeals of Coffee County approved minutes from the previous meeting, amended the meeting date on the agenda and elected officers by a combined voice vote.
Board members voted to move the election of officers up on the agenda and then approved a single motion electing Sammy Morton as chairman, Anastasia Gonzales as vice chair and Lowell Duke as secretary. The motion to place all three nominations on a single ballot was seconded and approved by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
The board also reviewed administrative items including a training date and revisions to the county’s codebook. Staff member Cindy notified the board that training is scheduled for July 18 and the board discussed adding definitions and clarifications to the codebook and subdivision regulations. A professional planner engaged by staff is working on updated subdivision regulations and zoning resolution language.
No contested policy decisions were made during the procedural portion of the meeting; the board ended the session after routine business and a public-remarks period.
