Predators and Bridgestone Arena representatives presented a conceptual rendering and timeline for a multi‑year transformation of Bridgestone Arena and said the plan will proceed without public financing.
Kyle Clayton, speaking for the host organization, said the conceptual plan — showcased recently at an industry event — would expand concourses corner to corner, open up Broadway-facing facades, and add new public-facing amenities such as restaurants and club spaces. Clayton stressed the design is in the conceptual phase and that renderings are spatial studies rather than final designs. “We’re truly in the conceptual phase,” he said.
Clayton told the Sports Authority the project team includes CA ICON as owner’s representative and Populous as architect. He said the team is planning to perform major bowl work primarily during summers (noting summers of 2027–2029 as possible windows) so hockey season and major events can be protected; those bowl works would likely require short summer shutdowns for heavy activity. Clayton emphasized the project will not use public funds: “There’ll be no public financing on this,” he said.
The presentation noted next steps: production of a project video for the authority’s June meeting, a capital asset management report due June 30, and further public updates later this summer and in August. Clayton said the team will continue to study uses for adjacent parcels (possible tower/hotel/other uses) and refine designs with community and board input.
