The Sports Authority’s personnel committee presented an updated executive director job description and the board adopted the revised description on a motion and voice vote.
Vice Chair Jack Duncan, reporting for the personnel committee, said the committee met in May 2020 to review the executive director’s annual evaluation and discussed updates and revisions to the director’s job description. “The committee gave our director excellent ratings,” Duncan said, and the committee recommended approval of the revised job description.
On the board floor, a motion to approve the updated job description was moved and seconded; Chair Bender called for the voice vote and the minutes record the motion as approved. The personnel committee also discussed adjustments to the executive director’s salary and the committee’s recommendation that the department budget for staff and board professional development not exceed $20,000. Those development funds, Duncan said, would cover conference registration, travel, classes, professional memberships and in‑house training. The resolution regarding development funding will go before the Finance Committee at its next meeting.
The transcript records committee discussion and a motion and voice vote to adopt the job description. The personnel committee’s report and the revised job description are included in the board packet.
