Board agrees to place multiple MOUs, RFP award and internship agreements on Thursday consent agenda

District staff presented several contract and memorandum items during the May 12 work session and recommended they be placed on the consent agenda for the board’s regular meeting on Thursday.
Items recommended for consent included: the annual multisystem MOU among Carroll County Schools, Carrollton City Schools, Heard County and West Georgia RESA for student placement in program centers; the biannual KidsPeace School of Georgia memorandum of agreement (MOA) covering day‑to‑day responsibilities including special education and state testing; and the 2025–27 Tanner Medical Center contract selected through a district request for proposal to provide physical therapy and occupational therapy services described in students’ IEPs.
Continuous improvement staff also recommended internship placement MOUs: an agreement with Brenau University for counseling and psychology interns, a Kennesaw State University MOU for education student internships, and a West Georgia Technical College MOA to allow nursing students to complete clinical experiences in school clinics. Staff said these agreements align with prior placements and recommended adding them to the consent agenda.
Why it matters: The recommended consent items cover recurring partnerships and contracted special‑education services that affect classroom supports, nursing and related student services; action on Thursday would authorize routine renewals and a contract award based on the RFP evaluation.
