TLC approves multiple new and renewed OPVH company applications, name/address changes and ownership updates

During its consent agenda the Metropolitan Transportation Licensing Commission approved a large group of on‑demand passenger vehicle for hire (OPVH) company applications, including new company licenses, late reapplications accepted as complete, address changes, name changes, and ownership modifications.
Director Rooker told commissioners that staff had reviewed paperwork for the new-company applications and recommended approval where applications were complete. Commissioners approved new-company applications for a long list of operators (staff read company names on the record). The commission also approved reapplications that had missed renewal deadlines (staff noted those companies had to undergo the full new-application process because they had let their files lapse), approved address-change requests and name-change requests where the company paperwork was in order, and approved ownership modification requests after staff review.
Commissioners asked staff to bring back a future agenda item clarifying the commission’s authority and process when a permit’s ownership changes or an owner departs from a company; staff agreed to place this item on a future meeting (June or July) to provide clearer guidance about removal of owners and transfer issues. The consent actions were approved by voice vote.
