TLC revokes taxi permit for driver who failed to complete company requirements and lacked insurance

The Metropolitan Transportation Licensing Commission revoked the taxi permit of a driver who the company reported failed to complete required vehicle inspection, did not secure proper insurance, and did not install a meter as required by company affiliation.
Representative Hassan, speaking for American Music City Cab, told the commission the driver completed initial licensing steps but never returned to the company for the required vehicle inspection, paid vehicle finance issues left the car improperly registered and operating with a residential tag, and the company recovered the taxi meter from the vehicle. NDOT temporarily suspended the driver’s permit and requested the commission revoke it after repeated noncompliance and failure to respond.
The driver did not appear at the hearing. The commission voted to revoke the driver’s permit for noncompliance; staff will update licensing records and notify the company and the former permit holder.
