"It is important that the evaluation of the superintendent in Massachusetts be conducted as a public event," he said as part of the procedural overview for the committee.
He asked committee members to send completed evaluation paperwork by the end of day on Tuesday, May 20, so the evaluation subcommittee could synthesize a recommended summative evaluation for the full committee to consider on May 27. The superintendent also noted priorities for the coming year: increased in‑building presence, producing an accessible infographic of the district improvement plan, continued Panorama implementation, and careful rollout of Yale RULER social-emotional learning and Securely Classroom Chromebook management tools.
Committee members were given a packet with a narrative reflection and supporting materials. Dr. O'Shea characterized the work as the product of many staff members and emphasized that the evaluation process would include a public summary from the evaluation subcommittee on May 27. No formal personnel action or final evaluation took place at the May 15 meeting; members were completing preparatory steps.
