Dan, Presiding official, said residents were “a little bit upset” that the boat ramp had been closed at noon during past July 4 events and asked staff to work with police and events to reduce closure time and “allow people to use that ramp, to the very last hour if possible.”
Gabby, Staff member, confirmed she met with public-safety staff and said she can provide updates by email and coordinate with Captain Berdelski. Dan also asked that risk management be looped in to address safety and liability concerns.
Separately, commissioners were told a midyear budget amendment includes roughly $80,000 tied to July 4 fireworks. Staff noted most consent agenda items are administrative but asked commissioners to flag any items they want opened for discussion at the full meeting.
No formal action occurred during the agenda review; staff will bring the July 4 operational plan and any necessary budget items to the upcoming commission meeting for approval.
