School committee adopts revised medication policy modeled on MASC guidance

Assistant superintendent (presenter) told the committee the existing local policy had been revised several times and had become "murky," so administrators used the MASC model and made small edits to fit Holliston. The presenter explained that the new document retains required references and regulatory citations; committee members asked staff to replace generic references to "school district" with "Holliston Public Schools" in the final copy.
One committee member asked about a technical citation in the draft, noting a difference between references to 105 CMR 2.10.100 and 105 CMR 2.10.600; staff confirmed the revised policy aligns to the correct regulatory citation for off‑campus self‑administered medication and said they would fix any remaining wording in the posted version.
The motion to approve the revised policy was moved by Sarah and seconded by Dawn. The committee adopted the policy by roll call: Joe yes; Frank yes; Sarah yes; Cynthia yes; Dawn yes; Hillary yes; Chair yes.
Administrators said the new policy will be posted in the district policy repository and will replace the prior locally amended version. The committee waived a full read of the entire policy because staff indicated it was largely a reformatting and adoption of the MASC model with minor local edits.
