Summit County Council appoints three residents to POA Recreation Special Service District board

The Summit County Council on Oct. 15 appointed three residents to the POA Recreation Special Service District Administrative Control Board, filling three vacancies after interviews earlier in the meeting.
Council members interviewed four applicants and moved to appoint Scott Walton, Christy Claykamp (who appears on applications as Christy Clifton) and Pamela Bridal. The motion to adopt Resolution 2025-26, naming those three appointees with terms expiring Aug. 31, 2029, was moved by Councilmember Roger, seconded by Councilmember Chris and carried unanimously.
The appointees told the council they live in eastern Summit County neighborhoods near Piawah Park and Browns Canyon Road and cited volunteer experience, local ties and interest in increasing community use of the PARC and other POA facilities as reasons for applying. The council noted there were four applicants for three seats and that county staff will notify the appointees with next steps.
The council conducted the interviews during its work session and deliberated in public before placing the resolution on the consent agenda for approval later in the meeting. The council vote matched the motion count recorded in the official minutes.
The appointments take effect immediately and county staff will provide board orientation and contact information for the district administrator.
