The Worcester License Commission approved a batch of routine one‑day liquor permits, operating‑hour adjustments and entertainment‑license requests at its hybrid meeting, and granted a beer‑and‑wine package‑store license to Bosque's Market (291 Burncoat Street). The commission also approved an entertainment license for a Main Street restaurant but restricted amplified music and other entertainment to end by midnight on nights it operates.

Among the one‑day approvals, the commission granted a series of event permits for ECCO (222 Harrington Way) for several dates in September–November; a one‑day permit for JT Ethier/Greater Good Brewing for a pizza festival on Oct. 11; a one‑day permit for Hellenic Arts Society for Nov. 1; and a Salisbury House bereavement permit filed by Denise Kapulka for Oct. 4 (hours adjusted by the commission). Each of those applications was presented by the applicant, reviewed by inspectional or police staff and approved by roll call vote.

The commission approved an on‑premises beer‑and‑wine pouring request for Zebra Foods (333 Pleasant St.) for a small restaurant area within a larger grocery footprint, with operating hours of noon–8 p.m. Monday–Saturday and noon–7 p.m. Sunday. Commissioners said they would schedule a site follow‑up to confirm separation and storage controls for alcohol between the grocery and the restaurant service area.

The commission approved a package‑store malt and wine license for Bosque's Market, after hearing both attorney representation and neighborhood comments about traffic and safety near the Burncoat Street intersection. Commissioners maintained the local licensing criteria had been met and recorded the approval on the record.

Entertainment and amplified‑music approvals included an edutainment license for The Basement LLC at 225 Shrewsbury Street to allow TV, DJs, dancing by patrons and karaoke (final inspections required). Punta Cana/Byron Grill at 795 Main Street received approval for live music, DJs and karaoke with a condition: amplified music and other entertainment must end by midnight to limit impacts on the surrounding residential area. Commissioners said the applicant may return later to request extended hours after addressing building, fire and safety items related to nightclub‑style activity.

Several items were postponed or continued for lack of applicant attendance or for additional inspection: transfers and change‑of‑officer applications for some premises were held to the Oct. 23 meeting, and a few applicants who were online had connection problems and will return.
