Committee continues consideration of surplus declaration and solicitation for 8790 Strath Road

The Land Use, Housing and Transportation Standing Committee voted to continue resolution 2025R046, which would declare the city-owned parcel at 8790 Strath Road surplus and authorize the CAO to solicit offers under city code sections 8.61 or 8.62.

Chris Nazamis, from the real estate division (appearing remotely), told the committee the item had been previously before the committee as the result of an unsolicited offer and that staff had been directed to solicit bids. The resolution returns to the committee to begin the solicitation process for the parcel. A public hearing was held; no in-person speakers appeared. The committee moved and approved a motion to continue the resolution to the Nov. 18, 2025 meeting to allow staff to solicit offers and return with results.

Recorded committee votes on the motion to continue were Mister Bridal — aye; Vice Chair Robertson — aye; Chair Jones — aye.

The real estate team will proceed with solicitation steps and return to the committee with proposals and recommendations at the continued meeting.
