ICE notifications and classifications: the sheriff reported 240 ICE notification requests countywide in the quarter and that the office made notifications in about 40 cases consistent with state law criteria (violent or specified felony history). The sheriff explained classification deputies, supervised by a classification sergeant, review criminal histories to determine whether a release notification to ICE is authorized under state law.
Field operations and public safety: patrol and dispatch data were updated for the quarter (roughly 79,000 total dispatch events), 51‑50 mental‑health responses and violent incidents were reported and the sheriff described ongoing work with county mental‑health mobile crisis teams to respond to behavioral‑health crises. The sheriff’s office highlighted recent unannounced facility inspections by the Board of State and Community Corrections and positive comments from an external prison‑law office review.
Transparency portal and other items: the sheriff’s office said it is building a public data portal to make arrests, bookings and other datasets searchable; staff noted that additional programming resources are being recruited and anticipated a broader launch in mid‑2026. Supervisors and the sheriff discussed concealed‑carry permit processing delays and noted current turnaround is about two months while the office works through a backlog.
