Wasco Police report: 806 incidents in first half of October; 33 arrests and 157 traffic stops

A representative of the Wasco Police Department presented a public safety report covering Oct. 1'15 and said the department handled 806 total incidents in that period, including 485 calls for service and 321 officer-initiated activities.
The report listed 157 traffic stops that produced 56 citations, 33 arrests, 77 case investigations (45 of them criminal), nine traffic collisions, four stolen-vehicle reports and one vehicle recovered. The presenter said the department typically handles 1,600 to 1,700 incidents per month and that the city appears on track to remain within that range.
The department also described community engagement activities: officers made 21 positive community contacts and the department took part in National Night Out. No follow-up actions or policy changes were proposed in the report.
Council members had no questions and thanked the department for its work.
