City staff presented three calendar options: Option A (continuation of the current model with first-Tuesday committee meetings and a fourth-Tuesday full council), Option B (split committee meetings over consecutive weeks), and Option C (a consistency-focused blend that schedules all four standing committees on the third Tuesday followed by a council meeting on the fourth Tuesday, with extra Financial Affairs Committee meetings in selected months). Staff said Option C was developed after reviewing committee utilization in 2025 and argued it would provide more predictability and targeted Financial Affairs flexibility.
Committee members repeatedly cited consistency and predictability as priorities; several said Option C best addressed those concerns. Alder Moldenhauer asked that staff consult department heads (finance, engineering, administration and others) about operational impacts before the committee votes. Staff agreed to collect feedback and return with a slightly amended memo at the next meeting.
No formal vote was taken on the calendar at this meeting.
