The Wauwatosa Government Affairs Committee voted unanimously to recommend that the full common council grant a new Class B beer and reserved Class B liquor license to Nordstrom Inc., doing business as Nordstrom Marketplace Café at 2424 North Mayfair Road, for the licensing period ending June 30, 2026.
City staff told the committee that Nordstrom’s application and accompanying documents were satisfactory, the city clerk’s office completed background checks on the agent and six corporate officers and “no violation substantially related to licensing activities were found,” and department reviews raised no objections. The clerk’s office recommended the council approve the license and noted representatives from Nordstrom were present in chambers and online in case of questions.
Alder First moved to approve the application; Alder Phillips seconded. The committee voted “aye” and the chair cast the deciding vote where necessary; the recommendation passed unanimously and will be forwarded to the common council for final action.
The committee conducted no extended discussion during the item and no members of the public spoke for or against the application during the public comment period.
