The Colleyville Garden Club presented a check for $32,800 to the city on Oct. 21 to help expand seating and garden space at the Colleyville Center. Janet Sudmeier, president of the Garden Club, said the donation was the culmination of volunteer plant sales and multi‑year fundraising.
During announcements, Mayor Bobby Lindenmood said council gave initial approval in a recent work session to proceed with a Texas Tree Trail project on about 9 acres behind the Colleyville Senior Center. The proposed trail would showcase more than 200 varieties of Texas trees, include interpretive signage, groves of similar tree types, pathways and a sitting/picnic area with a possible pollinator garden. Officials said the project could take three years or more to complete but staff are exploring ways to shorten the timeline.
Other community items announced included registration information for a “Mayor for a Day” youth essay contest (grades 1–5), early voting locations and hours for the joint general and special elections, the DEA drug take‑back day on Oct. 25 at the Colleyville Justice Center, and the return of Haunted Trails at Colleyville Nature Center on Oct. 30.
