York County highway superintendent reports asphalt work, shouldering and culvert cleanup

Harvey Keim, York County highway superintendent, updated the Board of Commissioners on roadwork progress at the Sept. 30 meeting, describing asphalt paving, shouldering and culvert cleanup across several county routes.
Keim reported crews had completed work on Southwest Snopes and Country Club Avenue and were working on 20 Fifth Street, with about two-thirds of the southbound lane paved. "They got 20 Fifth Street, covered. They are working on a right now. They have about 2 thirds of the southbound lane left to put on this morning," Keim said.
He said the county's shouldering crew had brought equipment and would plant and finish shoulders once machine work is complete; striping would follow. Keim also noted plans to address a notable dip on Road S near the Double Nickel mill and to clean a box culvert on Road 6.
Keim answered a question about schedule: the asphalt work was expected to be completed the same day of the meeting, with shouldering and striping timeline dependent on crew availability and weather.
Ending: Keim said crews would continue hauling gravel, grading and finishing pipe and culvert work; commissioners thanked him for the update and had no further questions.
