The Richland County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 14 acknowledged receipt of four applications from financial institutions seeking to serve as the county depository and said the packets will be forwarded to the county treasurer for a recommendation under the Ohio Revised Code.
The county received applications from Huntington Bank, Savista Bank, Cannix Bank and Arc National Bank. Commissioners said they followed the statutory process and will await the treasurer's recommendation before making a final depository appointment.
County staff identified Ohio Revised Code as the governing statutory process for depository selection; the board did not take a final appointment at the Oct. 14 meeting and instead recorded the applications on the public record.
