Will Adler, principal of Silver State Government Relations, told the Storey County Board of County Commissioners on Oct. 21, 2025, that the Greenlink transmission line project is under review by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and that the review is expected to conclude Oct. 30.
Adler said the BLM review “could end up with no change. It could have the exact same timeline in the review. It could end up with a a huge delay or could be rejected outright and the project could be stalled in its entirety.” He told the board that regional stakeholders — including large data centers and other large power consumers — are concerned about the uncertainty.
Adler said he contacted the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy and relayed that Dwayne McClintock, of that office, “did state that they're on on top of this issue themselves and somewhat concerned.” Adler said McClintock asked that local governments and end users provide documentation about potential local impacts, and that the county consider coordinating with nearby jurisdictions such as Lyon County.
Adler urged the county to gather and submit information about the local and regional consequences of any delay, including effects on development in the industrial park and on large power customers. He characterized his remarks as informational; the board took no formal action on the topic during the meeting.
The comment appeared during the meeting’s public comment period; no county staff presentation or motion on Greenlink was recorded in the transcript.
