Public Works staff said the water department inventories parts each year and solicits sealed bids to replenish items held for emergency repairs. Staff recommended Core & Main as the low responsive bidder and warned that not keeping the parts in stock could cause long-term water system shutdowns.
Councilman Judd moved to award the purchase to Core & Main for an amount not to exceed $74,378.38; Councilman Hatch seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously (vote tallies not detailed in the record).
Staff said stocked parts are kept in a city building for rapid access during night-time breaks and other emergencies. The purchase is recorded as City Project Number 7502686. The contract award directs staff to complete procurement and receive the parts for inventory.
