Council approves 2026 golf tournament schedule and fee rates for city course

The Torrington City Council voted to approve the proposed tournament schedule and the 2026 fee schedule for the city golf course.

Golf pro Dave Dent presented the tournament calendar and fee recommendations. He told the council the course may host an additional Wyoming State Golf Association event if the state association confirms dates; such events bring out-of-town visitors and hotel stays. Dent said the course has increased rates in recent years and recommended holding rates steady for 2026 before planning a possible increase in 2027.

Councilman Victorin moved to approve both the tournament schedule and the proposed 2026 rates; Councilman Deal seconded. The motion passed by voice vote.

Dent said the course remains competitively priced in the region and described infrastructure improvements the city has made in recent years, including culvert work and new bridges that improved drainage on some holes.

The approved schedule and rates will be implemented for the 2026 season; council members asked staff to revisit rate increases in 2027.
