Superintendent Dr. Lewis explained that, per statute, the board may schedule canvassing between the third and tenth day after the election and proposed several date/time options. The board removed Nov. 11 because it is Veterans Day and, after checking availability, settled on Nov. 12 at 4:30 p.m. The superintendent said the canvass meeting will run about 15 minutes, will be held in the Fridley High School conference room near the superintendent’s office, and that only one board member must be physically present while the others may attend virtually. “So 04:30, November 12. And as a reminder, that meeting will be 15 minutes,” she said.
Board members confirmed Director Jake (last name not specified) will attend in person; staff said Laurie will send meeting reminders and set up the virtual link for other members.
