Victorville City Council approves several staff recommendations, grant and contract actions; sees airport demolition amendment

The Victorville City Council on Oct. 21 voted unanimously on multiple items the council said were necessary to continue city operations, prepare for development and preserve ongoing services. The actions below summarize each formal motion taken during the meeting.

Vacation of California Avenue excess right of way (Resolution No. 25-068) The council adopted a resolution vacating portions of roadway and landscape easements on California Avenue to allow a new commercial retail development to use the area for building and parking. The council found the vacation not subject to environmental review under CEQA Guidelines sections 15060(c)(2) and 15060(c)(3). Motion to adopt staff recommendation was moved and seconded; roll-call votes were Yes from Councilmembers Godin, Irving, Jones, Mayor Pro Tem Herriman and Mayor Becerra (5-0). The clerk recorded the resolution number as 25-068.
