Stevens and Washington grind-and-overlay project to start Monday in Spokane; night paving planned

A staff member from the City of Spokane said the Stevens and Washington corridor grind-and-overlay project will start Monday and include daytime grinding and nighttime paving that will cause lane reductions and slow traffic. "The Stevens And Washington corridor grind and overlay project starts Monday," the staff member said.
The announcement said crews will begin work on Stevens Street between Sprague Avenue and First Avenue and on Washington Street between Main Avenue and First Avenue. "You can expect grinding work to take place during the day, and paving will happen during nighttime hours throughout the project," the staff member said.
City crews also reported ongoing work on Sunset Boulevard, where the grind-and-overlay project continues with lane restrictions between Cannon Street and Government Way near Brown's Addition. The City is working on pedestrian-safety improvements at the intersections of Grand Boulevard and 13th Avenue and Cedar Street and 12th Avenue.
Motorists should expect lane reductions and slow traffic on Washington and Stevens streets while work is underway. The announcement urged drivers to slow down, follow detours and support businesses affected by construction: "Thank you for working with us this construction season. Slowing down, following detours, and supporting businesses impacted by construction," the staff member said.
