Council pauses appraisal of 201 Sabine property; says potential buyer expressed interest in private school use

Council members told a public commenter that the borough has paused the appraisal/assessment process for 201 Sabine (the former school property) pending further information from an interested buyer. Staff said there is no appraisal agreement in place and that no action has been taken to start the appraisal.
“ We are pausing on that at the moment. There has been no action taken,” staff said when asked whether an appraisal had been completed or sent out. The borough explained the prospective buyer has expressed interest in acquiring the school property for use as a private school, including the park area, and staff said the borough will make further information public once it has details from the interested party.
Council declined to advance any appraisal or sale process until that party provides more information, and stressed it would publicly post any updates.
