During the May 15 meeting the Parks and Urban Forestry Board received an update that two trail furnishings at Highland Park were vandalized and will be replaced.
A staff member reported two units were “abused” and need replacement; the substructure and concrete footings remain sound, so crews plan to unbolt the old timber and install new wood components. The board heard that one additional unit is available from team storage and another is on a staff truck and will be reinstalled once parts are ready.
Board members asked that staff publicize the repairs when completed so the community knows the features are available again. Staff said they will coordinate reinstallation and share location updates in the city’s community group and on utility-bill messaging when timing is set.
