The Chattanooga Beer Board approved on-premises beer permits for VTX Club LLC (Beer permit 1334) and White Duck Taco Chattanooga (Beer permit 1339) and referred a change-of-ownership application for a ChuChu Avenue location to regulatory staff for follow-up.
VTX Club LLC: Applicant Angel Yan, representing BTX Club LLC doing business as VTX Club at 415 Georgia Avenue, told the board the venue will operate primarily as a members’ social club while welcoming guests, and will offer a cigar lounge and entertainment including a golf simulator and bourbon-focused events. Yan said staff will check driver’s licenses and use an ID-scanning system to ensure customers are at least 21. The board approved the on-premises beer permit by roll call; Brooke was absent.
White Duck Taco Chattanooga: Applicants Ryan Taylor, Adam Lutz, Steve Lutz, Drew Beam and Dennis Beam said the White Duck Taco franchise will operate at 1519 Macaulay Avenue, is owned by Hotcall Holdings LLC, and will hire roughly 40 employees. The group said servers will obtain ABC service permits and that the business plans to open in June. The board approved the White Duck Taco Chattanooga beer permit 1339 by roll call.
Change of ownership at ChuChu Avenue: Marathon Acquisition LLC applied for an ownership change for a location at 21 ChuChu Avenue. The applicants said they are adding a partner and were not yet scheduled for a building inspection; staff noted the file still needs the building inspection before final action. The board moved the ChuChu Avenue application to regulatory review so the regulatory unit can confirm the required inspections and finalize the administrative steps.
Votes and next steps: The approvals for VTX Club LLC (Beer1334) and White Duck Taco Chattanooga (Beer1339) were approved by roll call; the ChuChu Avenue change-of-ownership application was referred to regulatory review and may be finalized without returning to the full board if regulatory staff receive the outstanding building clearance. Staff reminded applicants to work with city staff (Calandra) on server training and permitting requirements.
No fines or enforcement actions were taken in connection with these applications at the meeting. The board emphasized that permits are nontransferable and that ownership changes require appropriate filings and inspections before a new permit can be issued.
