County reports 48 homes closed under Next Generation Housing; dashboard and volunteer contributions highlighted

Washington County Community Development staff reported May 15 that 48 homes have closed under the county's Next Generation Housing initiative and that 210 homes with approved funding are slated for future development.

Deb Solski, presenting the Community Development quarterly report, said the last home in a current park development in the Hartford area closed recently and that contracting focus will shift to a 16‑home development in Hartshottawa (project name as stated). Solski told the committee a grand‑opening for Cedar Creek Townhomes is set for July 1 and that a groundbreaking for Bridal Place in Flosscomb is scheduled for June 9.

On program metrics, staff said participants and partner agencies logged 4,992 volunteer hours, partner agency donations totaled roughly $45,000, and incentives paid to recipients amounted to about $156,000. Solski said those figures will appear on the county's public dashboard and that future quarterly packets will include the dashboard for committee review.

Committee members asked for additional breakdowns and volunteer-hour reports; staff said they would include dashboard materials with future quarterly reports. "We have had 4,992 hours that have been volunteered...and dollars $45,000 that have been donated to our partnering agencies," Solski said.

No formal committee action was required on the quarterly report; staff said they will continue program monitoring and provide expanded dashboard detail in subsequent updates.
