The Milford Exempted Village Board on May 15 approved the district’s five‑year core elementary math resource adoption — Reveal — and approved a pilot drone elective at the Milford Academy.
District curriculum staff said Reveal was selected after a multi‑month pilot involving roughly 75% of classroom teachers and that the adoption comes in under the allocated budget by approximately $208,408. Teachers and instructional leaders will receive multiple paid trainings over the summer; district staff said more than 103 staff members (including gifted, intervention and EL teachers) will be supported in training before the 2025‑26 year.
Superintendent staff presented the drone elective for the Milford Academy, developed by an academy teacher with grant funds available to purchase equipment. The course will start small with district drones and aims to build toward FAA credentialing opportunities for students in future years; approval of the elective was unanimous.
The board stressed that adopted materials are core resources and that standards remain those set by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Administration said families and staff can access decision logs and pilot information online and that coaching and office hours will be available to support implementation.
