Milford names new high school principal and middle‑school leadership as staff promotions

The Milford Exempted Village Board announced leadership changes May 15 after a comprehensive search and internal promotions: Kevin Metzger was selected as principal of Milford High School; Todd Wells will be principal of the new Milford Middle School with Lauren Iger as assistant principal; and Misty Getz will move from junior high principal to director of teaching and learning.

Superintendent and human resources staff described a multi‑stage selection process for the high‑school principal that included nearly 30 initial candidates, three interview rounds and participation by students, staff and community members. Kevin Metzger, a Milford graduate and current assistant principal at Milford High School, described his background in a brief statement and said he aims to build on the school’s traditions while “teaching, learning, and failing forward.”

Misty Getz, who has served six years at the junior high and four at the high school in prior roles, told the board she had completed doctoral coursework and thanked mentors and colleagues. Lauren Iger said she is honored to serve as assistant principal; the board noted three of the four promoted leaders are district alumni.

The board approved the human resources consent agenda, including certified staffing for 2025‑26 and several retirements. Trustees thanked outgoing Chief Academic Officer Paul Daniels, who will leave the district for a superintendent role in New Richmond, and noted he will support transitions through the summer.

Administrators said the promotions are intended to support continuity as the district moves into the new middle school and prepares for the 2025‑26 academic year.
