Senate Education Committee reviews amendment to H.480 to let CTE centers provide transportation and share wait-list data

The Vermont Senate Education Committee on May 16 considered an amendment to H.480 that would allow career and technical education centers to provide student transportation, require sending centers to share wait-list information, and permit CTE centers to adjust tuition midyear to reflect increased enrollment.

Committee members said the amendment is intended to help fill roughly 200 available slots at the Hannaford Career Center in Addison County by enabling that center to bus students from Rutland County towns such as Otter Valley and to receive legally required student information from the Stafford Career Center so it can enroll students who are on Stafford’s waiting list.
