Two new light-rail stations — at Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond — are now open, Kevin Klein, a member of the city's geographic information system team, said during the CityNewsNow broadcast for the week of May 12.
Klein said the city has posted a tutorial featuring the mayor with tips on planning trips, paying fares and track safety; he added that "riding light rail is a snap." This release is aimed at helping residents use the new stations and reduce barriers to transit use.
City staff did not provide ridership estimates or specific opening dates beyond saying the stations "are now open." The broadcast materials direct riders to the city's online resources for schedules, fare information and station access.
