Lawndale board hears Measure CL technology update, launches AI guidance work

Lawndale Elementary School District technology staff told the board on May 15 that Measure CL funds have largely been preserved this year while the district used other sources to buy devices and complete safety and audio upgrades, and that an AI task force has begun writing guidelines for educational use.
At a presentation, Director of Information Technology Todd Barker and 20 First Century Learning Coordinator Anne Marie Moad said the district spent only about $12,000 of Measure CL during the 2024–25 school year because alternate funding paid for many purchases, leaving roughly $800,000 carried over from prior years. Barker told trustees the largest current category is network hardware and software support, and corrected a slide typo: “the actual expenditures this year were 1,100,000.0 not a hundred and 28,000.”
