Grayslake CCSD 46 approves labor pact, employee compensation and service contracts; e-rate switch purchase cleared

The Community Consolidated School District 46 Board of Education on Wednesday approved several labor, compensation and service items, including a PSRP bargaining agreement, exempt employee compensation, a one-year food service contract with Organic Life, and a federal e-rate switch purchase for network hardware.

Dr. Wolk briefed the board on the PSRP (paraprofessional and support personnel) negotiations and called the talks brief and positive. "It was a very fairly short bargaining session with our PSRP group. Very proactive, very positive, and I think we came to a very nice agreement with them," Dr. Wolk said before the board approved the agreement.

The board also approved exempt employee compensation and later approved a one-year food service contract with Organic Life. Amber Donnelly, who identified herself as the food-service district manager for Organic Life, addressed the board during public comment: "On behalf of Organic Life, I just came to say thank you for a wonderful school year and are we're just so grateful to be here and to support you guys, serving these kids food," she said.

The board approved an e-rate switch purchase, a federal discount program payment that will fund replacement of end-of-life network switches over the summer. Administration said the replacements will occur while buildings are largely empty and will use remaining funds from the current e-rate cycle to update networking hardware.

Votes on the listed motions were recorded as affirmative for the motions considered; most were approved by unanimous roll call. The board also approved its meeting calendar for 2025–26 and adopted other consent-agenda items presented at the meeting.
