MSD Martinsville leaders announced expansion of the On My Way Pre‑K program and said the district still has openings for the next school year.
The district said On My Way Pre‑K is offered in each elementary school and that free tuition vouchers and reduced‑rate scholarships are available. District staff asked families to call the Central Education Center for enrollment information and encouraged all families to submit an On My Way voucher application.
A presentation clip described the program as play‑based learning for 4‑ and 5‑year‑olds and stated that students must turn 4 by Aug. 1 to qualify for the On My Way Pre‑K voucher. The district also said its pre‑K classes use the Frog Street curriculum.
Board President Heather Staggs praised the program and noted the personal impact of early learning: she described a keepsake from her own daughter’s pre‑K experience and said the district’s rollout of the program has been an example for other districts in the state.
The board did not vote on program expansion during the meeting; staff said families should contact the Central Education Center for enrollment steps and voucher application assistance.
