School committee approves out-of-state trips for student leadership and SkillsUSA teams

Finally, the committee approved travel for seven students and three chaperones to attend this year’s SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta; the school recorded the cost at $25,405.
Each travel request was moved, seconded and approved by roll call. Committee members recorded affirmative votes for each item during the meeting.
Superintendent and staff emphasized that students who attend Edge of Leadership often take leadership roles at school afterward; the meeting record cites alumni serving as student officers, chapter leaders and conference delegates.
