Superintendent: Farmersville High restored to full WASC accreditation through 2029

The Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), has restored full accreditation to Farmersville High School through June 2029, Superintendent Manuel Mendez told the Farmersville Unified School District Board.
“We are proud to share that the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association Schools and Colleges, which is WASC, has officially restored full accreditation status to Farmersville High Schools through June 2029,” Mendez said during his report to the board.
Mendez thanked Farmersville High teachers, staff and site leadership for preparing and submitting the report that led to the accreditation restoration. He also noted ongoing state testing (CAST) and said the district is “continuing to test this week and next” as part of end-of-year assessment activity.
Why it matters: institutional accreditation affects community confidence and can influence curriculum, college readiness and transferability of student credits. The district said it will continue to support the work that led to the restored status.
