CDA continues discussions with Habitat for Humanity on 6901 West Bullock Road; RFP costs exceed budget

West Allis Community Development Authority staff said they will continue working with Habitat for Humanity on potential development at 6901 West Bullock Road after responses to a recent request for proposals showed construction costs above the CDA’s budget.
"We had an RFP response for the cost of building a single family house, which was a lot more than what we budgeted," Patrick said, noting the CDA remains in discussions with Habitat and that staff and the developer would visit a Habitat property on May 27 so the CDA could see an example of the homes under consideration.
Staff said the plan for the lot could be two houses—one smaller and one larger—and that Habitat has many questions and is performing analysis to meet deadlines. Staff will send an email to CDA members with the visit details and continue to coordinate the project timetable.
No formal action was taken; the CDA said staff will keep members informed as design and cost work continues.
