The Nelson County Local Planning Committee voted to approve recommended revisions from the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to the district's draft District Facility Plan and forwarded the revised plan to the Nelson County Board of Education for action.
The vote followed presentations and technical reviews from district staff about KDE's edits, attendance and capacity recalculations, and comments from the Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) about proposed CTE programming. Steven Ward, district staff who presented the recommended document, said KDE's reviewer made mostly technical changes and that "for the most part, they were accepting everything that was proposed by this committee in principle, but they did make some technical changes." A motion to approve the recommended revisions was made by Mr. Mayfield and seconded by Mr. Zukoski; the committee completed a roll-call vote and the motion passed. The committee then forwarded the revised DFP to the Nelson County Board of Education for its next steps.
