"When I looked at it, I wondered how they made those selections ... I assume they probably" used personal knowledge, one commissioner said.
After discussion, a motion to accept all applicants and appoint Paul Huntley as chair passed unanimously. The county administrator indicated the committee had spoken with Huntley and that he and another member were willing to serve as recommended.
Commissioners said they expect the new board to pursue a mix of agricultural and entertainment events that could help generate revenue for the fairgrounds and broaden participation across the county.
