Cochise County schedules flood control and jail district budget review ahead of May 20 meeting

County staff notified the Board on May 15 that the county will schedule budget review sessions for the Flood Control District and the Jail District, and that the jail discussion follows issues raised in a prior budget work session.
Miss Gilman told the Board that for the week of May 18 the Flood Control District, Library District and Jail District have regular meetings that will be limited to approving minutes and demands. She said she asked the clerk to add a work session for May 20 for the Flood Control District and Jail District to review budgets.
Staff emphasized that the Jail District "definitely we need to have a discussion, based on our discussions yesterday in the budget work session." No formal budget decisions were made at the May 15 work session; the Board indicated staff should proceed with scheduling the district budget reviews and bring materials to the May 20 meeting.
The Board's regular meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, when agenda items related to district budgets will return for further consideration.
