Board adopts world literature and ethnic studies course for San Marino High School

SAN MARINO, Calif. — The San Marino Unified School District Board of Education voted unanimously on May 13 to adopt a World Literature and Ethnic Studies course for San Marino High School.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Nina Richter presented the item as an action following a public hearing and information presentation on April 22. Richter said teachers, parents and students participated in curriculum development and that there were no substantive changes or community input requiring revision since the April presentation. "The students who were on the committee were very excited, to have this course implemented next year," Richter said.
Board members moved and seconded the adoption; the roll call vote was recorded as aye by President Joseph Chang, Board Members Song, Lam, Ryan, Gia and Chen and the motion carried.
The course will be available for enrollment at San Marino High School; staff did not note additional local implementation details in the May 13 vote beyond the adoption action.
