WWP Board approves administration, finance and personnel items; accepts two long‑time retirements

The West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District Board of Education voted unanimously to approve grouped administration, finance and personnel agenda items and to accept recently announced retirements, the board's presiding officer said during the meeting's voting session.

The board approved administration items numbered 1 through 6 plus the purple addendum, finance items numbered 1 through 10, and personnel item number 1 including three addenda (green, pink and yellow addenda), the presiding officer announced before calling the roll. Board members voiced "aye" for the motions and the presiding officer declared the votes unanimous.

During the personnel approvals the board acknowledged two retirements the board had just approved: Sharon Refson, a Wyckoff Elementary School teacher retiring after 33 years of service to the district, and Gay Cohen, an instructional assistant at Grover retiring after 25 years. "We wish you both well, much luck, happiness, and adventure in your next chapter," the presiding officer said.

The board also approved the minutes from the April 29 meeting; the presiding officer called for the vote and board members responded in the affirmative.

These approvals occurred during the meeting's regular voting portion after committee reports and public comment. The motions were procedural approvals of items on the board's consent and personnel agenda; no individual motions, amendments or roll-call vote tallies by member were recorded in the transcript beyond the presiding officer's request for motions and the unanimous voice votes.
