WWP student representatives highlight spring sports, academics and senior events ahead of summer

High school North and South student representatives reported spring athletics and academic achievements, upcoming tests and senior activities at the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District board meeting, and thanked staff for Teacher Appreciation Week recognitions.
Student representatives from West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District told the Board of Education on the final meeting of the school year that spring athletics, academic competitions and senior events are wrapping up while AP and state testing continue.
High School South student representative said the boys tennis team is 17-0 and that the schoolplaced well in track meets; she noted the robotics team qualified for the world championships for the 10th consecutive year and the mock trial club placed first and second at the Princeton Moot Court. "We are so proud that our student body is being recognized for both athletics and academics," she said.
The student representative for High School North summarized AP exam schedules and forthcoming NJSLA testing for freshmen and juniors, and said North will hold a "North Day" to offer students a de-stress field day next Thursday. North also elected a new student council executive board; the representative congratulated Anissa Samal, who will serve as next year's student body president.
Both student representatives noted Teacher Appreciation Week activities and the district educator of the year announcements. High School South praised its educator of the year, Miss Gallison, and recognized Principal Sincotta for her service. High School North announced Jana Colpini as that building's educator of the year.
Students outlined upcoming senior events including a Washington seminar trip May 28to May 31, a senior trip to Disney from June 7 to June 11, prom on June 13 and a senior sunset event on June 19. They also thanked the PTSA for recent fundraising events and staff lunches during Teacher Appreciation Week.
The student representatives closed by thanking the board for the opportunity to present during the year and noting that two student liaisons, Johnson (senior, High School North) and Rachel Joseph (senior, High School South), will graduate this spring and end their terms.
The remarks came during the student representative portion of the regular Board of Education meeting; the representatives covered athletics, clubs, arts and upcoming testing and events.
