Chair Collin Guevias opened discussion by saying the commission had previously used shirts during outreach and that wearing a common item could help identify members at community events. After discussion about logo placement and vendor options, the commission took a motion and second to proceed.
"Motion passes to do a custom design for approval and shirts, and then have the commission members consider stakeholders for their own cost," the chair announced after the vote.
Commissioners discussed whether the item should be a T-shirt for events or a polo; most favored a simple, affordable T-shirt that includes the commission logo. A member noted prior outreach activities at the mall had included stamping booth visits and door prizes and that having a visible shirt had helped participants identify commission volunteers.
The commission directed that a representative or small committee coordinate vendor selection, collect shirt sizes, and present a proposed design for approval. The motion did not set a dollar amount or identify a funding source; commissioners agreed individuals or agencies would pay for their shirts.
The commission recorded the motion as approved and moved on to other agenda items.
