Following the plea colloquy and stipulations, Boyd found there was sufficient evidence to adjudicate guilt and accepted the plea terms. Prosecutor Ashley Jones told the court the complainant supported the outcome and the State recommended the agreed disposition. Defense counsel Melissa Christian said the defendant had been assessed as competent, and the court confirmed the defendant knowingly and voluntarily waived jury trial and certain appellate rights as part of the plea-bargain agreement.
The court explained the consequences of an affirmative family‑violence finding, including a prohibition on ownership or possession of weapons or ammunition, and advised the defendant of his limited appeal rights arising from the plea agreement.
